CUSTOM-MADE VS READY-TO-WEAR

Create a wonderful wardrobe by having your clothes custom made. Don't let the stores dictate your sense of style. With the assistance of your designer, you select the appropriate style, color, and fabric for your body type and skin color and you get the proper fit.

Custom clothes are more expensive than ready-to-wear clothes because they are made and fitted to the individual customer's body camouflaging the negative and accenting the positive qualities. There are people who sew inexpensively, but there is a definite difference in hand-made, custom-made and home-made. Ready-to-wear clothes are less expensive because of the extremely large number of garments that are made from one pattern and because they do not be fitted to each individual customer during the manufacturing process.

If you are one of the thousands of persons in the world who is not a perfect size, you have problems when buying clothes. The waist is too large or too small. The sleeves are too short, too long, or too snug. The jacket is too small but the skirt or pants fit perfectly and vice versa. If the problem is minute and requires only minor alterations, you can benefit from either ready-to-wear or from custom clothing.

Custom made clothing is the perfect solution for the hard-to-fit person. Custom clothes can help to solve fitting problems because the designer knows exactly how to fit the body bulges and how to make any adjustments before the garment is cut. One must be measured before garment construction begins and must be fitted again and again in muslin to insure perfect fit before the garment is cut in the fashion fabric. One must also be fitted several times after the garment has been cut in the fashion fabric and sewn.
